This is my lidded project. It is 4.5 inches tall by 3 inches wide. I glazed the base in green and the lid in blue so they pop from each other. This project taught me how to create a lid with a grip on it to hold by pressing my fingers together and closing the clay. This project shows color because of the two tones reflecting off each other which leads to contrast because they are typically the same color but I did them different for a reason. This project makes me feel happy because the lid fits on the base and looks like the project is proportional.

This is my tall project. It is 6 inches tall by 2 inches wide. I glazed it with white and blue glazes. I learned how to pull the walls really tall and still keep it centered by evenly applying pressure so it doesn't tilt off. This project shows space by the gaps between the lines looking empty and bare which leads to contrast of the lines off of the base color because they look opposite of each other. This project makes me feel bored because the glaze is plain and didn't come out as vibrant as I hoped for. This is my bowl 2 project. It is 4 inches tall by 5 inches wide. I glazed it in blue and white glaze. A new skill I learned was how to pull the walls a certain way to get a more rounded bowl shape. I glazed it by at first dunking it in white glaze and then dripping blue over it and splashing blue in the center. This bowl shows line by the glaze slipping down the walls which leads to space because there is an even portion of blank in between each glaze drip. This bowl makes me feel excited because I love the way the glaze turned out and am overall proud of the way it looks.
This is my frankenpot project. It is 7 inches tall by 3 inches wide. It is a tall cylinder made by attaching three small cylinders to each other. It is glazed in white, black, green, and clear. A new skill this project taught me was how to slip and score wheel projects because I had only been used to doing that to hand projects. I glazed it by dunking the bottom half in white and the top half in black, then sponging off the top portion and dunking that part in green while pouring clear glaze in the inside to make it smooth. This project shows line by the distinct sections of color stopping and then starting again with a new color which leads to balance because all three colors are evenly proportioned and it looks like everything is in place. This project makes me feel accomplished because our whole team worked together to make something tall and in one piece and I am happy we could pull it off.
This is my large bowl 1 project. It is 5 inches tall by 5 inches wide. It is glazed in white and then painted over with black red and yellow bottle glaze in the shape of a flower with vines. A new skill I learned from this project was being able to pull the walls more evenly in order to create a taller project. This project shows shape in the twisty turning vines and rounded flower petals which leads to balance in the flow of shapes and colors in the project. This project makes me feel proud because I am not very good at painting so I was glad I could pull this off. I was a little sad that the white glaze ran though. |
